ISOC Day at AIS’25 - Highlights from October 3, 2025

Maud Elliot, President Internet Society Ghana Chapter presented on Internet Society Ghana Chapter followed by a panel on Evolving Community Networks in Africa moderated by Jean Batiste Milongo.
Barbara Muthoka from AfChix spoke on community networks in Kenya, Madhvi Gokool from AFRINIC and Stephen Ofuso, co-founder Step Network joined the panel remotely with interactive discussions.

An interesting session highlighting Interconnection in Africa followed. Eminent speakers included Jean Baptiste Milongo, Ghislain Nkeramugaba Internet Development Expert ISOC |Youtube Video|, Brice Abba, Stakeholder Engagement Manager at AFRINIC |Youtube Video| and Sara Alamin, Interconnection Manager and co-founder of SudanNog, joining remotely. |Youtube Video|

The final session ‘’Training for the Internet’’ Marian Pletosu - Program Advisor, Learning and Training - Internet Society Foundation moderated the session. In the panel, remote presenters Richard Buregeya - Tutor, Adventist University of Central Africa, Rwanda, Ntokozo Ncube, ICT Manager, Solusi University, Zimbabwe and Barrack Otieno Chairman Association of Community Networks, Kenya and Ruth Njeri.

AIS’25 was concluded with a closing ceremony where Prof. Quaynor paid tribute to the late Fearghas Mc Kay, and welcomed AFRINIC back to the Africa Internet Summit. Mr Cedrick Mbeyet from AFRINIC and the AIS Technical Team presented the NOC Report during the closing ceremony.
